SSMC in the Auburn, WA Veteran's Day Parade - November 7th, 2009
A little rain was not going to stop Don Gentry, Tim Floersch, George Pearson, John Mansfield and Bob Opple from leading the USSVI entry in the largest Veteran's Day Parade west of the Mississippi. It's November in the Pacific NW and that's what it does... rain! We all had a wet blast. (click on the photos below for a larger view)

SSMC's Second Chapter is on Board!
The Ozark Chapter of U S Submarine Veteran’s Inc. of Arkansas made their inaugural ride this Veteran’s Day, completing a 121 mile motorcycle ride to various central Arkansas veteran’s parks and memorials. Flags were placed at the Medal of Honor Plaza near the state capitol, WWI/WWII/Korea/Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial adjacent to the Lonoke County courthouse, 39th Infantry CIB (2003-2005) Memorial in Searcy, Veteran’s Park in McRae and the USS SNOOK Submarine Veterans of WWII Memorial in North Little Rock. A brief “Tolling of the Boats” ceremony for submarines lost during November 1942-1944 was also conducted at the USS SNOOK Memorial. Lunch at Creegan’s Irish Pub followed the USS SNOOK ceremony.
